An NPQH qualified Headteacher, I hold both a Bachelors and a Masters in Education from the University of Cambridge. I am currently a doctoral research student at the University of Bath, in the field of shared reading and parental engagement. My research interests include phonics, interventions for children with special needs, leadership of schools in challenging circumstances and the use of dramatic and inquiry based strategies for learning.

I hold the NPQSEN and have been Special Needs Co-ordinator in four schools. I am experienced in applying for EHA and EHCP assessments, completing standardised tests with pupils and planning for SEN provision at a pupil, class and school level.

I have worked with both the Local Authority and Regional Schools Commissioner to develop and implement action plans for effective school improvement and have reviewed school performance within the context of the Ofsted inspection framework.

I have served on three governing bodies and have also worked in a refugee camp working with displaced families.
